Will's at the beginning (at least, I think it's the beginning) of a trip to Massachusetts that lasted several weeks. There was some item or items he was trying to get hold of in Massachusetts for his work in Cincinnati - or maybe it was for his father-in-law. I do not know what that was about. Maybe someday I'll stumble across it. And in the middle of the trip he took a look at Alma's exciting Woods Hole enterprise - i.e. the building of the cottage on the property that was later named Fernbank.
Will sent this postcard to his older son, Billy. I hope and believe that there were postcards to the other three children as well, and that the others simply went missing.
We came up in the car shown in the picture. It has a wire rope like the cradles on the incline. Most of the people ride backwards coming up so that they can look out over the country.
