Jessie is a Christian Science practitioner, which would be attractive to Cecil. But did she appreciate his gregariousness and his storytelling?

My dear little sister
Such a sweet letter I had from you this morning, I want to answer it at once and tell you I had just as much pleasure out of your visit as you had. One of the happiest times of my life, and I shall never forget our first meeting, and the love that you sent out to me was appreciated. Our little talk on Science made me long for the time when my dear ones across the ocean would realize Good as the only power, but I must let patience have her perfect work, and wait + love more.
My dear Kathleen, I trust your happiness will be increased, when I prove my true love for your brother by living the Perfect Life and loving him as I long to, with a pure love, not thinking of self, but of how he may be happy at all times.
As to Ruthie’s return, as you say sister, “all things work together for good to those that love God” + this winter she can do work in Savannah, then be led to come to Pittsburg + carry on work for both places. We must not limit the Almighty, but destroy a belief in any other power than God. “Promotion cometh from God.” And we must be willing to be lead at all times. Ruth’s visit to Pittsburg is a stepping stone to something higher, of that I am quite sure. “Seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven” etc. The same I can say of your visit dear, for I know you are both trying your best to cling to the Spiritual Creation as being the only creation or existence.
Yes, I am going to Mrs. Evans 1130 South Ave. Wilkinsburg next Tuesday. Cecil came and helped me to hang pictures etc on Saturday so I am gradually getting fixed up.
Cecil and I were in Carrick yesterday, to-night we are going to read to Mr. Collins. So glad you had a lovely journey, “Divine Love always meets every human need,” as you realized by overcoming the thought of sickness. “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” I was happy to know you helped a sister, for she loved to be with you. Love is reflected in Love, and Christ-good draws all even unto him. When I read what you had to say about that lady and her son, the thought came to me “For as much as you have done it unto one of these my little ones, ye have done it unto me”
So sweet to say you have not lost a brother but have found a sister, for I was saying to Cecil one day, that one thing your father wrote made me so happy, namely Now we have another dear one to pray for, not to divide our love but to augment its expression. I wonder if your dear father knows how much I appreciated that expression of love, for I long for mankind to know of that love that can never be impoverished. “Lo, everyone that thirsteth come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money, come ye, buy, and eat, yea come buy wine and milk without money and without price.” Spiritual food, and the Kingdom of Heaven is Love. We talk of you so often + tease Claude about losing both his girls, Cecils’ always turns up.
The pictures are not so bad, but Cecil says I have not got my usual happy smile. I gave them to Cecil to send to you. Fondest love to all
Ever yours in Truth

1.
The paper is unlined, but I think Jessie must have had some guide beneath the sheet because the writing is unnaturally straight. On the other hand, Divine Love always meets every human need.

Such a sweet letter I had from you this morning, I want to answer it at once and tell you I had just as much pleasure out of your visit as you had.
Kathleen and her sister Ruth had traveled up to Pennsylvania earlier in the month to meet her brother's fiancée. We have a postcard from this trip, though Jessie is not mentioned in it:

3.
Our little talk on Science made me long for the time when my dear ones across the ocean would realize Good as the only power
I have the impression that Jessie was from Pennsylvania, but this letter suggests her family is in England.

I need to keep an eye out for more of Ruth's movements.
5.
Cecil and I were in Carrick yesterday
Carrick, Pennsylvania is about a dozen miles from Wilkinsburg, where Cecil lived.
6.
“Divine Love always meets every human need,”
A popular quote from Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of Christian Science. Margaret, Will's first wife, also liked it:
