Kathleen sends Will news of home while he deals with Mama Margaret's death in Ohio, and hopes that he'll write back - always a forlorn hope when it comes to Will. But the letter never reached him in Ohio, and followed him home to Atlanta.

Sunday
My dear Will
I hoped I might get a letter from you to day S.D. but I did not. I hope I shall hear tomorrow. I went to the bank yesterday afternoon + found I should have gone before 12 but the bank was open - the man was nice + let me deposit the check and get out a little money. Then I did a little shopping + came home.
Mrs. Stevens rang up about five + then they both came around. They were very nice - very sorry about it all. Mrs. Stevens only came back yesterday from her trip. They took some eggs. I packed a box of eggs to send to Savannah + then decided to send them to Mrs. Gere. Some of them were a good size. The Watkins also came for eggs yesterday. I am going to pack a box for Savannah when I am through with letter writing.
Mrs. Ennis rang up yesterday and asked me to go to a party. Of course I told her I could not go + why + she was very sympathetic + told me to tell you how sorry she was.
In the evening I rang up Mrs. Larkin and asked her stop by + take us to Church. It was so much easier to do that than walk Roger to the car, so she came for us in good time + we were ready + went off. It rained hard last night. I was awake early this morning + did get up to go out to the chickens but it rained so hard I decided to wait + after a while it stopped. They were alright + had kept fairly dry but the babies' pen was wet so I put a good deal of straw in + that made it alright. I have put all the chickens in the garage with one hen and they get along very well together. I go out at night + help the juniors get to bed and they are tame.
This afternoon we stayed home. It stopped raining but was so cold that I went down and started a fire in the furnace. I am still not very warm. The children are all in bed and asleep and it is very quiet here.
The Druid Hills Club House burned to the ground on Friday night. They put the loss at $100,000. I am glad you had not left any of your outfit there. The Brookhaven Club have offered the members the use of their course until they get some building or lockers put up. It is a pity it burned for it was an attractive place.
Margaret was put into another class in Sunday School today. I think that is all my news, + I hope to have some news from you soon.
Much love to my boy -
Kathleen.

I hoped I might get a letter from you to day S.D. but I did not.
S.D. must be Special Delivery, since it was a Sunday.
The Druid Hills Club House burned to the ground on Friday night.
Wikipedia says:
The Druid Hills Golf Club is a private country club located in the Druid Hills neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia. The course has frequently hosted U.S. Women's Open qualifying tournaments.
The Druid HIlls Golf Club website says:
www.dhgc.org/club/scripts/view/view_insert.asp?pg=HIST&GRP=32062&IID=298964&NS=HIST&APP=106
The clubhouse burst into flames in the early afternoon of Friday, May 9, 1924, apparently due to defective wiring near the roof. Property damage totaled approximately $100,000. The clubhouse was promptly rebuilt. A comparison of early photos of the clubhouse prior to its destruction in 1924 and photos of the reconstructed building show little difference in appearance. The new design was essentially the same except the new clubhouse was made fireproof. The new clubhouse formally opened Wednesday evening, July 1, 1925 with a formal dinner dance attended by 450 people.
A letter from Billy was in the envelope with this letter.
