There's more about this bike trip in FRED'S BICYCLE ACCIDENT, because, decades later, Fred told his daughter about the trip, which was more eventful than the article tells. It thrills me to have this article.

TRIP ON HIS WHEEL
Fred Stokey Returns From A Trip of About One Thousand Miles.
Fred Stokey, of West Ninth street, has returned from a trip to West Point, where he went to see his brother, Cadet William P. Stokey. Fred made the trip to West Point on his wheel, and his visit was a surprise to his brother, as the latter was not expecting to see him. Fred returned by rail to Cleveland, but rode from that city to Canton Sunday on his wheel, making the trip in about seven hours. In all, he rode about 1,000 miles on his wheel, having been gone about three weeks.

1.
TRIP ON HIS WHEEL
A wheel is a bicycle, of course. Alma mentioned a wheel in a 1904 letter:
1904-09-04 LETTER FROM ALMA TO WILL
2.
Fred returned by rail to Cleveland
I figure Will gave Fred the cash for the train trip. Maybe he wanted to make sure Fred returned home in one piece. See:
FRED'S BICYCLE ACCIDENT
3.
The name of the file for this scan is:
Repository_1897-07-27_5
So I figure that's the name of the newspaper, the date, and maybe the page number?
The Repository seems to be the paper that our Stokeys preferred, rather than The Stark County Democrat, which is what's available online. See:
1889-07-24 ARTICLE FEATURING PAPA CHARLES
1903-04-24 LETTER FROM MAMA MARGARET TO WILL
1903-11-22 LETTER FROM MAMA MARGARET TO WILL
1916-01-06 OBITUARY FOR PAPA CHARLES
