December 12th
Dear Little Pickles:-
Yesterday I mailed to you a book of Mother Goose pictures to be cut out but I did not have time to write your birthday letter.
I brought this paper to school today so as to write you a little note during recess.
Isn't it fine that your Grandmother and Grandfather and Aunt Ruthie will be with you for Christmas?
I hope that Aunt Jessie and Uncle Cecil can come too so you will have a big family party.
How did your school orchestra get on with its playing downtown? I should like to have heard them.
At the children's orchestra concerts here this week a little Philadelphia boy played the violin with the orchestra. The paper said he was only seven years old. I did not hear him but I heard that he did very well.
Mr. Stokowski told the children that at the next concert Charlie Chaplin would come all the way from California to play the cello for them.
Soon Aunt Alma will be coming for Christmas with me and we shall be talking about all you children and wishing we could see you all.
With best wishes for a happy birthday and a kiss for each year x x x x x x and a big hug to grow on X
With much love to all the family from
Aunt Eva.

There's no year given, but I think it must be 1924, since Kay was born in 1918 and later in the letter Eva sends her an X for each year:

These were Kathleen's parents Annie and WJ Farmer and her sister Ruthie Farmer coming from Savannah, and Kathleen's brother Cecil Farmer and his wife Jessie maybe coming from Pennsylvania.

Mr. Stokowski told the children that at the next concert Charlie Chaplin would come all the way from California to play the cello for them.
I googled, but the information was too sketchy for me to confirm that this was in 1924. But I did see a page about Charlie Chaplin's cello-playing in:
https://cellomuseum.org/charlie-chaplin-passionately-fond-of-the-cello/
However, by 1925, his filmmaking left him little time for the instrument.

Soon Aunt Alma will be coming for Christmas with me and we shall be talking about all you children and wishing we could see you all.
If this was indeed 1924, this would be the first Christmas without Mama Margaret, who died in May 1924.
So, for the Five Stokey Siblings, we have the following locations for Christmas:
Will and Kathleen in Atlanta with the children and Kathleen's family.
Alma visiting Eva in Philadelphia.
Fred in Angola.
Laura probably staying put in the Canton, Ohio area.
Eva at home in Philadelphia, with Alma visiting.
5.
Alma went down to Washington DC in January:

Did she go home to South Hadley before heading down to Washington DC? Or did she go visit friends in between, perhaps?
