To the Lundeen Family:

Thank you for all the love and kindness that were included in the package of delicious Comice Pears from your wonderful state.  Particularly since I have been so terrible in my own correspondence.  As you know, I live in the Clipper Convalescent Home in Sharon.  I have no excuse for not writing you dear people more frequently.  For me it has been a chastening process, but I am learning the importance of trying better to understand the infinite and to recognize that life indeed is an eternal process.

Included is a report that I prepare, and which some of you may find of interest.

May happiness attend the days of each one of the Lundeen family during the current year.

Aunt Kay sent pears to us as well, and indeed they were delicious.

2.
For me it has been a chastening process, but I am learning the importance of trying better to understand the infinite and to recognize that life indeed is an eternal process.
According to my cousin Barbara, Uncle Cecil had both of his legs amputed.  Definitely a chastening process for a Christian Scientist.

3.
Cecil lays the compliments on very thick.  As I was reading this letter, it occurred to me that he was more like his outgoing father than like his determinedly unobtrusive sisters Ruth and Kathleen.
