Sibyl asks a favor of Fred. It sounds like something he would enjoy doing.

Mar. 16/27.
Dear Dr. Stokey:-
I have had a bright idea! It's just like you!
I wonder how much work you have to do, and if you are terribly busy this week.
Would you be free to-morrow to take Mrs. Webster's car to Chisamba? Mary can't go because of Exams, so Mrs. Webster is quite willing for you to take the car if you care too. I would enjoy it much more than going by train. We would have to start soon after seven so as to arrive before the carriers leave for the train, because Mr. Steed is in Kamundongo, studying Umbundu, and Miss Melville is there visiting.
I do hope that you haven't a large number of seriously ill folks amongst your patients.
I won't say, "I'm sorry to bother you." But please give this your most careful consideration.
S.H.

There's a little about the various people in the missions in the Non-Family Mission Folks page.
Would you be free to-morrow to take Mrs. Webster's car to Chisamba?
Mrs. Webster was an old-timer missionary. She first came to Angola in 1887.
One s in Chissamba. No need to be particular about spelling.
Apparently Fred was able to make the drive. See:
1927-03-21 LETTER FROM FRED TO SIBYL
We saw no game on the return trip. The roads were very sloppy from Chissamba to Silva Porto. From V.S.P. on to Chingua there had been very little rain since we passed on Thursday.
Mr. Steed is in Kamundongo, studying Umbundu, and Miss Melville is there visiting.
Mr. Steed - a missionary, stationed in Chissamba, if I remember correctly.
Miss Melville - an old-timer missionary, also stationed in Chissamba. She ran the group house where missionaries stayed when they visited.
Kamundongo was where Dr. Sanders, the missionary Umbundu expert, lived.
I'm a bit confused by this letter. It sounds as though Sibyl and Mrs. Webster were temporarily visiting in Dondi, where Fred was stationed, but if that's the case, why did Sibyl need to write Fred a letter?
I'm sort of interested in the proposed automobile trip from Dondi to Chissamba. The distance was about 370 miles, and Google maps says it would take 8 hours and 21 minutes today. I have no idea how old Mrs. Webster's car was, and also I have no idea how good the road was in 1927. Fred rode around Angola on a motorcycle, but a 1920s car would be quite a different matter.
