[...]D. B. Reed, also of 1903, is to teach history in the academy. Bruce H. Davis, who graduated at the conservatory last year, has received the appointment of teacher of pianoforte in the conservatory. J. F. Alderfer, also of 1903, is to be a teacher of the organ in the conservatory. Miss Alma G. Stokey, 1904, has been appointed assistant to Professor Grover in the botanical laboratory.
This is an article in the Boston Evening Transcript with notes about goings-on at Oberlin. It's sort of surprising to me that a Boston newspaper would do such a thing, but perhaps Boston felt a special connection to Oberlin due to the abolition movement? It seems unlikely to me, but I don't know.
Alma ended up being based in Massachusetts, of course. Sometime maybe I'll look into the Massachusetts-Ohio connections. If I ever have time.
