At a meeting of American council on education held at the Cosmos club, Dr. Mina Kerr was the representative of the A. A. U. W. as a proxy for Dean Virginia C. Gildersleeve, of Barnard college.
Among the notable women who were staying at the club this past week are Dean Winifred Robinson, Woman’s college, University of Delaware; Dr. Mary Jane Hogue, professor of biology, North Carolina Woman’s college; Prof. Sarah E. Smith, Mount Holyoke college; Dr. Clara E. Bacon, professor of mathematics at Goucher college; Dr. Anna W. S. Carr, associate professor of botany, Mount Holyoke college; Dr. Alma G. Stokey, professor of botany, Mount Holyoke college; Dr. Louise S. McDowell, professor of physics, Wellesley college; Dr. Anna M. Klingenhagen, dean of women, Oberlin college. Miss Mary Caswell, secretary to the president, Wellesley college, is now at the club. The women were all in Washington attending the conferences on the advancement of science.
