I sometimes wonder how Laura, a missionary-supporting Methodist, felt about Fred becoming a Congregational missionary instead of a Methodist one. But she was a warm, loving person, so I daresay she concentrated on the missionary part rather than the Congregational part.

The seventh annual meeting of the Canton district Woman's Home Missionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal church, in Salem Friday, was a decided success. Quite a number attended from Canton, some taking part in the program.
The Cantonites who participated in the program are: Miss Laura Stokey, who led devotional exercises; Miss Emily Ritterspaugh, corresponding secretary and treasurer's reports; Mrs. Alice N. Chance, paper on "The twentieth century and home missions;" Miss Mary Dillon, on "Our circle," and Mrs. L. N. Church and Mrs. Mary Houser, on "Our auxiliary."
