This postcard - "Say, can’t you write to a fellow?" - serves as a reminder that, despite all the hundreds of letters that we have, there are still more that we don't have. I don't think we have anything that Eva wrote to Fred, and given that she by no means accorded him the hero worship that she gave to Will, I really wish I could see whatever letters she wrote to the less-favored brother.
And yet he still asked for a letter from her - but then, Eva wrote some very good letters.

Dear Eva, I am sending this to show how we spent Christmas eve. Do you recognize anyone on the stage? Say, can’t you write to a fellow? I have not heard from you for an age. Frank returned to Oberlin this a.m. She started yesterday but missed connection at Jackson by 8 minutes + had to return to B.C. or stay there all night.

Do you recognize anyone on the stage?
I sure don't recognize anyone on the stage. From what Fred said, it seems as though one of them might be Fred or Mabel, but I can't tell. The fact that I got the postcard from AG suggests that Mabel was there, and that Eva returned the postcard to Fred after Mabel died, but that's just speculation.
Frank returned to Oberlin this a.m.
I don't know who Frank is. I don't even know if her name was Frank, since Fred's handwriting was, as usual, not outstandingly legible. Mabel had a sister named Frances, but why would they call her Frank?
She started yesterday but missed connection at Jackson by 8 minutes + had to return to B.C. or stay there all night.
B.C. is Battle Creek, of course. Jackson, Michigan is 47 miles from Battle Creek.
