About the timing of this application to become a member of the Mother Church in Boston...

​WJ had been in America already for at least a couple of years; we have the postcards to prove it.  But he didn't make his application until now.  I wonder if the conversion of the Farmer family to Christian Science happened around this time in England, so that it was in the first enthusiasm of conversion to Christian Science that he attempted to make another conversion on the Channel Ferry - see:
