This letter tells Sibyl that she has passed one of many hurdles towards becoming a missionary in Angola. The stars are aligning to bring Fred and Sibyl together.

Miss Sibyl G. Hosking,
℅ Canadian Congregational Board of Missions,
137 Confederation Life Bldg.,
Toronto, Canada.
My dear Miss Hosking:
It gives me great pleasure to inform you that your papers were presented to the Members of the Cabinet this morning and were approved, a recommendation then being made that they be submitted to the Prudential Committee of the American Board for the official approval of your appointment to the West African Mission as a nurse for life service to be supported to be supported by the Canadian Congregational Woman’s Board of Missions. May I congratulate you on becoming a member of our great Missionary Family?
Of course you realize that it will need the approval of the Prudential Committee before this becomes official. Unfortunately, their next meeting does not occur until June 5th, when your papers will be submitted for final approval.
Here in the Board Rooms we were very much pleased with your papers and the fine recommendations that accompanied them, and we all realize that this is the first step in attaining your life purpose of service on the missionary field. I hope that this letter will reach you before the Annual Meeting of the Woman’s Board at Stratford where, I understand, you are to speak. Our thoughts will be with you at that time, and we trust that you will have an inspiring and helpful Annual Meeting.
As perhaps you know, we are planning a Conference for all our newly appointed missionaries to be held here in Boston from June 7th to 12th inclusive, and we are very anxious to have you with us at that time. I am enclosing a preliminary program, together with a sheet of instructions. Please let us know if it is at all possible for you to be with us at that time so that we can make arrangements for your travel accommodations.
You won’t misunderstand the business-like tone of our letter, as we want you to count upon a warm, personal welcome here. We are here to serve you and help you in any way we can to fully equip yourself for the great work that lies before you. May God give you His richest blessing in these coming days.
Sincerely yours,
Mark A. Ward, M.D.

This is the US board approval. The Canada board approval came the following January.
This letter is written by Mark H. Ward MD. We have another letter from him as well, and he seems like a very nice guy to me.
