Kathleen and her two youngest children, 13-year-old Kay (a.k.a. Pickle) and 11-year-old Roger have gone to visit Kathleen's family in Savannah. Will doesn't have much news for Roger, but he does his best.
I hope Mother and Pickle arrived safely. Luckily I remembered to get Billy Saturday. I had to wait until nearly 1:30. I reached the camp a little before 12.45. Billy passed the Junior Life Saving test and got his badge. The last part of the road to his camp is getting very rough. I suppose partly because there have been some very heavy rains. Billy's cabin won the point contest last period.
When I went for Billy all the boys had just finished dinner and they were still at their places singing in the messhall. After that they had announcements. They were trying to get as many boys as they could for the next period as they wanted to break the attendance record (total number of boys for the year) and they did not have nearly enough registered to fill the camp for the coming period.
The roses and other flowers are doing well since the rains have commenced again.
Am sending Mother's dress that came back from the cleaners Saturday evening. Also am forwarding to her two letters from England.
Tell Mother it rained the first part of yesterday afternoon but I went to the houses after it cleared up - about 3:45. Not much success.
Took Mrs. Goodman to church but she didn't seem to want me to come back, although I offered to do it. It hasn't rained today and has been rather hot.
