Roger is 9 years old now.
I wonder if Alma thought this postcard picture was as odd-looking as I think it is. Neither the buffalo nor the man milking her looks terribly happy.

Sonamarg, Kashmir, May 25 '30
This is the kind of buffalo that derailed some of the cars on the train that I was on in Ceylon last August. They use them for milk and for plowing. These are two Kashmiri men. Our pony men and coolies wear caps like that on the man who is standing. We are in camp in Sonamarg, which, according to the guidebooks is "known for milk, food and eggs" but one can't get any milk.

So Alma was on a train in Ceylon (now called Sri Lanka) in August 1929. I'm always hoping for more information about where she was when.
We have a postcard that Alma sent to Kay on the same day:
1930-05-25 POSTCARD FROM ALMA TO KAY
Therefore I hope that there are postcards for Maggie and Billy that we simply don't have.
