I imagine Margaret is dying with curiosity (loving curiosity, of course) wondering what's happening with Eva's marriage. And so am I!

Sunday Evening
Dear Eva,
This is to be a composite letter. I am to start it and Margaret is to finish it. You know I am better at starting them than I am at finishing them.
I have been practising nearly all day. We went to hear Pepito Arriola yesterday after noon and that is responsible for the revival in music. He seemed to be about as old as Orestes, but he certainly can play. The enclosed program shows the class of music he plays. Thursday night we are going to hear Mary Garden. Margaret is sitting here beside me worrying the life out of me to tell you that I am very happy. It’s the truth so now I can talk about Mary Garden. I was sorry to notice that her program did not include any Salome dancing.
My dear Eva,
What do you think of our demure Will even thinking of Salome? I told him, one would think he was a gay married man.
We started this last night just before we retired. Will took me to church and then he called at the Robins he left some of his music there, he rather dreaded going, he thought they would tease him. He has not called before just for this reason.
Tuesday noon.
Mrs. Stannard a friend of Will’s had lunch with us yesterday and spent the afternoon. Consequently no letters.
I received such a dear good letter from Mother yesterday also one for Will she tells me you will join them in two weeks. I certainly wish I could go with you. I know you will enjoy the change couldn’t we have a good visit.
Mother said Alma had decided not to come west this summer. I am so disappointed.
I have been looking at apartments it is very discouraging. Every thing is so expensive in San Francisco; we could live for much less in Los Angeles. You must find it very expensive living in New York. My trips to New York would lighten my purse just think of my being in New York, about every six months, and not knowing you at the time. I feel I’ve missed so much. Will said just this noon that you and I would agree about most things, this is a secret: but Will always talks of you, I mean more than Laura or Alma and when you are unhappy he is so disturbed. I wish we lived nearer each other, although I am not fond of New York - because I always want so many things, I am carried away with the stunning women and their gowns and always feel tacky, even when I am dressed my best, and feel quite satisfied with my clothes when I leave home. I suppose most of this comes from living in the large hotels where you see so much style. I know I like myself better when I’ve staid [???] home. I guess this is really being narrow. San Francisco is very much the same, the San Francisco women are noted for their good looks and gowns in the west, of course we are living in a quiet family hotel and see very little of this I have just had phone from Will, must dress and start for town, I just love to go down and meet him, we generally go window shopping; Will wants to look in the cheap windows, he says; he feels rich, and I want to look in the expensive windows, and then he feels so poor, his looking at the tacky windows is more to tease me than anything else - he is such a tease. I will try and finish this when I return - I am not going to tell you just how old this letter is.
Will started one to Mother and one to Alma when he started this and I have not added a line. I must post them today I have just had a phone inviting me to go calling next week - with such a charming girl, that I met through Los Angeles friends, She live here in San Francisco. She has introduced me to some charming people. I wonder if you can get anything out of this letter. Will Mr. Evans join you on your trip?
Captain and Mrs. Guthrie sent me a beautiful carving set a few days ago from Ohio. Colonel and Mrs. Cosby in Washington sent a silver be fall [???] and stand - it’s so pretty - do write us soon I am going to try and be more prompt in answering the family letters, you dear girl it isn’t because I do not love you.
Worlds of love from both
Margaret.

1.
This one of three letters to Mama Margaret, Alma, and Eva that Will and Margaret started on Sunday, May 21, 1911. The letters aren't dated, but the postmarks on the letters and the contents of the letters make it clear that the three letters were started at the same time. The three letters are:
1911-05-21 LETTER FROM WILL & MARGARET TO EVA
1911-05-21 LETTER FROM WILL & MARGARET TO ALMA
1911-05-21 LETTER FROM WILL & MARGARET TO MAMA MARGARET
2.
I have been practising nearly all day. We went to hear Pepito Arriola yesterday after noon and that is responsible for the revival in music.
Wikipedia says:
José “Pepito” Rodríguez Carballeira (December 14, 1896 – October 24, 1954) was a Spanish child prodigy pianist and eventual master violinist.
3.
He seemed to be about as old as Orestes, but he certainly can play.
Orestes was Orestes Cleveland, who lived as a child with the Stokeys in Oberlin for a while - see the Non-Family Ohio folks pages. I figure Orestes was born around 1898.
4.
Thursday night we are going to hear Mary Garden.
and:
I was sorry to notice that her program did not include any Salome dancing.
The end of that sentence is in Margaret's handwriting rather than Will's.
Wikipedia says:
Mary Garden (20 February 1874 – 3 January 1967) was a Scottish operatic soprano with a substantial career in France and America in the first third of the 20th century.
and also:
Garden returned again to New York in 1909 to perform the title role in the French version of Richard Strauss's Salome. During the performance she lasciviously kissed the severed head of John the Baptist which shocked the morals of a number of the audience members even more than her Dance of the Seven Veils (which she performed in a bodystocking).
5.
Will took me to church and then he called at the Robins he left some of his music there, he rather dreaded going, he thought they would tease him. He has not called before just for this reason.
Will lived at the Robins hotel before he and Margaret were married.
6,
My trips to New York would lighten my purse just think of my being in New York, about every six months, and not knowing you at the time.
Margaret's handwriting is such that originally when I read this I thought she was saying that she had been in New York for six months, but now I see that she went to New York every six months, presumably in connection with her head milliner job, looking at the latest fashions in the east.
7.
Will said just this noon that you and I would agree about most things, this is a secret: but Will always talks of you, I mean more than Laura or Alma and when you are unhappy he is so disturbed.
It sounds as though Eva has been talking about problems in her marriage to Frank Evans.
8.
Will Mr. Evans join you on your trip?
A carefully casual question out of the blue.
