Miss Grace M. Bacon is again at the home of Miss Ellen C. Hinsdale, "Garden House," after a five years' leave of absence from the faculty of Mt. Holyoke. Miss Bacon was at Walnut HIll, Natick for two years and for the past three years has been a member of the faculty of Allegheny College at Readville, Pa. Miss Hinsdale's sister from Ann Arbor, Mich., is also at the Hinsdale home, where she will remain for the summer. Miss Ellen Hinsdale also plans to spend the summer in South Hadley.
Miss Alma Stokey will spend the summer at Woods Hole.
1. It really isn't necessary to include the paragraph about Miss Bacon and Miss Hinsdale, but they interest me. Also I wonder if Miss Hinsdale visited Fernbank in the summer of 1928.
2. the home of Miss Ellen C. Hinsdale, "Garden House," So maybe Miss Hinsdale, the head of the German department at Mount Holyoke, was interested in plants? That would be something to talk to Alma about, although of course if people are nice, it's not essential to have things in common.
3. Allegheny College at Readville, Pa. Allegheny College is in Meadville, not Readville. I'm sure that Alma knew that Allegheny was the college that her father, Papa Charles, graduated from.
