TOURS OF THE SITE: ~INTRODUCTION~---available tours---related-pages---site navigation
This is a concept still under construction.
This section was formerly a chapter named Document Sequences, but I have decided it can serve a larger purpose, so I'm repurposing it. The idea is that since there are over six hundred document pages on this website - far too many for me to expect anybody to read them all - I will create guided Tours focusing on various subjects and people.
There's a lot to do in order to make that happen, but I'll get it all done eventually. In the meantime, bear with me and don't be too fussy about whether something is called a Tour or a Document Sequence. They will all be Tours, eventually. The current Tours tend to be mostly newspaper items and forms; I'm planning to add letters and postcards to some of them, and also to create Tours of groupings of letters - as a nice small example, there will be Tour containing the three letters that we have from Alma's trip to England in 1910.
On to what was there before I started making changes...
This is the place for groups of documents that deal with a subject rather than a person or a time-slice.
Each Document Sequence page gives a brief summary of what the sequence is about, and then a list of links to the document pages in the sequence.
Each linked document page in the sequence has, in return, a link to its document sequence page, and also links to the previous document in the sequence and the next document in the sequence. The sequence that you may well be most familiar with is the Fernbank News, but I've found this format useful for lots of other things.
