Papa Charles, the father of the Five Stokey Siblings, was not single-minded. The documents that are in this website show that he had several different interests, as well as a couple of issues that developed in his life. For the moment, I'll just mention that my Uncle Bill (Papa Charles's older grandson, born the year after Papa Charles died) said that when his father Will was a cadet at West Point, he met President William McKinley, who said, "I know your father."
