I don't know who the friends and relatives were whom Eva visited on her way to Woods Hole. I don't think there were any close relatives in Virginia. There may have been Provines relatives, but I think it was more likely friends.

MRS. EVA STOKEY EVANS has left for her summer home in Woods Hole, Mass. En route she will visit friends and relatives in Alexandria and Arlington, Va., and Boston, Mass. She will also attend the Bach Festival in Bethlehem, Pa.

I think she was probably planning to go to South Hadley as well, judging from Clara's postcard from Hawaii a few weeks earlier. I'm glad you will be in S.H. to welcome us when we return.

She will also attend the Bach Festival in Bethlehem, Pa.
Eva attended the Bach Festival the previous year and the following year, and I daresay other years as well: - see:
