AIR RAID ALARM -- Residents near the city water works were slow in responding in last Thursday's trial blackout because they did not hear the alert signals, and yesterday Carl T. Barnett, of 1105 Grove street, appeared at the city hall to give the city a large whistle to correct the defect. He is shown at the right as he made the presentation to Mayor LeCraw, left, and Colonel W. P. Stokey, aide to General E. G. Peyton, commander of municipal defense activities.
The pointing finger in the photograph looks at first as though it's Will's, but it must be Mayor LeCraw. Will, standing, isn't terribly recognizable, but it must be he, and of course the bald spot patch helps.
