BOTANIST TO ADDRESS FAITH CHURCH GUILD
Dr Alma G. Stokey of Mount Holyoke Will Discuss 'India' Friday
Dr Alma G. Stokey, head of the botany department at Mount Holyoke college, will be guest speaker at the January program meeting of the Women's guild of Faith Congregational church which will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the parish house. Mrs Dale S. Tate, president of the guild, will conduct a short business meeting and devotions will be lead by Mrs Raymond L. Barrett. Mrs. Ernest S. Arnold will be soloist.
Miss Stokey has chosen for her topic, "India." She spent three years in that country where she went to establish a botany department at Madras college. In connection with her work and during long vacations she traveled extensively through various parts of the country and she will tell of the people and their customs.
A social hour will follow and refreshments will be served under the direction of Mrs. E. Milton Allis.
Mrs. Ralph E. Clark of 53 Bronson terrace will entertain members of group 4, Mrs C. Harry Graves, leader, tomorrow afternoon at 1:30. Following dessert luncheon a variety of games will be played. Mrs. H. O. Eberhardt has been named program chairman of the group for the remainder of the year and Mrs. F. A. Heath has been appointed chairman of refreshments and will be in charge of hostesses.
Group 10, Mrs C. H. Mallon, leader, will meet tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 at the home of Mrs Howard Stedman of Long Hill street for a dessert luncheon. Assisting hostesses will be Mrs Harold Brown and Mrs George Fenn. Dr Benjamin T. Marshall will read.
