We had dinner at this place yesterday + then got in the car + rode along the smooth sand - it was lovely to ride on, so smooth + firm.  There were crowds of people there, and thousands of cars.

About the Casa Marina Hotel, Wikipedia says:
The Casa Marina Hotel is a historic hotel in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. It is located at 12 Sixth Avenue, North. It was built in 1925. On September 2, 1993, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The National Trust for Historic Preservation has accepted the Casa Marina Hotel to be part of the Historic Hotels of America.

There is no signature on this postcard, but I think it must be from Kathleen's sister, Ruth Farmer.  The "Kathleen" looks very much like the "Kathleen" in: Ruth's and Kathleen's father, William James Farmer, had some sort of financial dealings in Florida - I haven't paid much attention to it - and I can imagine him bringing Ruth (and maybe his wife Annie as well) along on a business trip.  Conceivably the trip would have been purely for pleasure, but I would be surprised if Ruth went to Florida on her own, and I would also be surprised if WJ went on a trip to Florida with no business involved.  WJ liked his work.
