Alma was always so good to her nephews and nieces at Christmas.

Dear Aunt Alma,
Thank you so much for nice presents you sent me. I have never read "Emma" but I have heard that it is a good book. The little box from Japan and the bracelet from Mexico are as pretty as they can be! The album is just what I needed and the scarf is beautiful! Thank you very much for all of them!
I hope you had a merry Christmas for we certainly did. Miss Turner sent us some very nice presents - Billy + me some foreign coins in two little leather purses, Kathleen a Tryolean doll + Roger some jack straws from Copenhagen.
Last night I gave a big party and I think it was a great success. We did not have it here at home because there would not have been room enough. It was a costume party and every one looked very pretty. There were about eighty people + we had a very good time. A great many girls give parties + teas during the Christmas holidays. We don't go back to school until Jan. 2.
We have heard several times from Boris + Gallina Tarokhoff and Billy and I got Christmas cards from them.
Today we had a letter from Dr. Meyer. He certainly is nice.
I hope you have a very happy New Year.
Love,
Margaret

It strikes me odd to see Emma called a good book. Just one of those things. And the bit about the album makes me wonder if Alma consulted with Maggie's mother, Kathleen (the older Kathleen) on what to give.
2.
Miss Turner sent us some very nice presents - Billy + me some foreign coins in two little leather purses, Kathleen a Tryolean doll + Roger some jack straws from Copenhagen.
I have Miss Turner on the Non-Family Woods Hole folks page on this website. This letter tells me a little more than I knew about her - i.e. that she traveled to Europe. I still don't know her first name.
3.
We have heard several times from Boris + Gallina Tarokhoff and Billy and I got Christmas cards from them.
They were the Gorokhoffs, not the Tarokhoffs. As well as being friends of the Stokeys, they ran the Choral Club in Woods Hole in the summer. They are included in the Non-Family page for Woods Hole in this website.

Today we had a letter from Dr. Meyer. He certainly is nice.
Dr. Meyer is also on the Non-Family Woods Hole folks page.
