Rockwood, Ont.
Jan. 24, 1924
Miss Sibyl G. Hosking,
Rockwood, Ont.,
My dear Sibyl:-
At a meeting of session held on Jan. 18, 1924 the following resolution was passed and instruction given to forward a copy of the same to yourself.
"The session learns with great delight and pride of the decision of one of the members of this church, Miss. Sibyl G. Hosking, to go as a missionary nurse, under the Canada Congregational Woman's Board of Missions, to the Angola district in Africa. With humility we confess the failure of our own denomination at this time to be able to send her out under its care. However, as she is about to leave our midst the session will follow her with the greatest interest and with fervent prayer. Her exceptional qualities of character as well as her practical experience as a nurse assure her abundant success in the Master's work. May she have many souls for her hire. May God's richest blessing rest upon her and may the step she has taken so stimulate the missionary spirit in this congregation that we shall be satisfied not with merely doing our duty but going the second mile in the great Missionary cause".

Of course they had to explain why Sibyl wasn't going as a Presbyterian missionary.
