It's startling how blithely people gave out their home addresses to the general public back then.

1.
Evans, Eva Stokey, Contralto.
I had the impression from a letter of Alma's (couldn't find it, have to look further) that Eva was a soprano. I asked AG about it, and she didn't know. This looks definitive, so, contralto it is.
2.
Herbert Wilber Greene
Here's what I found in:
singer, teacher, director, studied in New York, London and Paris, 1880 music teacher in Brookfield, 1885-1897 with Charles B Hawley founder/director of the Metropolitan College of Music in New York, 1895-1896 founder/president of the Clef Club New York, 1897-1898 of the Music Teachers National Association, 1900 founded the Summer School of Singing in Brookfield Center, 1909-1910 president of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, staff editor of The Etude and The Musician, editor of The Singers Ladder, buried at Central Cemetery Brookfield where his pupils erected a stone ; son of farmer/hotel keeper Myron E Greene (Massachusetts 1825-?1911 Holyoke) and Amanda H Smith (Massachusetts, Northampton 1822-) ; 1875 in Brookfield he married Mary A Smith (Connecticut aug.1851-) who had some debility ; 1902 in New York City he married pianist/composer Caia Aarup
I don't know whether or not it is relevant that he was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts. The mention of Brookfield is helpful. Mr. Greene's Summer School of Singing must be where Eva was when she sent a postcard to Anne Starr in 1920: I had wondered whether she was a teacher or a student. It looks as though she was a student.
2.
Member of Faculty, Shady Hill Country Day School, Philadelphia.
This is the only place so far that I've seen the name of the school where Eva taught. I couldn't find anything about it online, though I did find out from Wikipedia that there was such a thing as the Country Day School movement:
The Country Day School movement is a movement in progressive education that originated in the United States during the late 19th century. Country Day Schools sought to recreate the educational rigor, atmosphere, camaraderie and character-building aspects of the best college-prep boarding schools,[citation needed] while allowing students to return to their families at the end of the day. To avoid the crime, pollution and health problems of the industrial cities of the early 20th century, the schools were sited in the 'country', where wealthy families owned large homes in areas that would later be known as suburbs.
