April 3, 1922
Dear Eva,
I want to tell you a little story. On Good Friday a few years ago there came to a family a dear little girl baby. There were four children in the family the youngest over four years old so the baby was a great pet with them.
Almost as soon as athe baby could talk she commenced to sing. She would sit in her little chair in the yard and would sing " 'Apper Day" and when she would get tired of singing would suck her thumb and twist her hair with her other hand and after awhile would sing her songs over and over again. She was a happy child and is now one of the sweetest and best of women, scattering sunshine every day. She is a joy to her mother who would rather hear her sing than any prima donna that she has ever heard.
Now I wish you a happy birthday. Mother.

Mama Margaret uses stationery with Laura's address on it: 949 McKinley Ave NW, Canton, Ohio. I can't imagine Mama Margaret taking stationery away from Laura's home, so she must have been visiting Laura. I was not previously aware of this visit, but this was when Will and Kathleen were living in Cincinnati with the four children, so it's not surprising that Mama Margaret would have been in Ohio.

We have so very few memories kept of when the Five Stokey Siblings were children. I'm pleased to have found this one.
