Captain Evans Marries Teacher.
Miss Dora H. Bradshaw, of Flushing, L. I., a teacher in the public school at Queens, and Captain Frank Evans, of the Aviation Corps, stationed at Mineola, L. I., were married yesterday afternoon at the Church of the Ascension.
Earlier in the day they obtained a marriage license at Long Island City, where Captain Evans set himself down as having been the defendant in an action for divorce in Philadelphia by his first wife, Eva Stokey Evans, to whom a decree was granted in April, 1916.
Captain Evans is 43 years old, and his bride is 24.

We're in World War I, and Frank is a captain. He's over forty years old (incidentally, his age fits with the November 1874 date that Barbara found for his birth), so this must have been purely voluntary on his part. I know nothing about the history of military aviation, but I assume that he couldn't have become a captain in the Aviation Corps if he hadn't known how to fly a plane. Whatever his other defects may have been, he apparently was not a coward.

So Eva, living in Philadelphia, filed for divorce there. I checked to see if I could find anything about it in a Pennsylvania newspaper, but found nothing. There was a tenor Frank Evans in the area, but I have no idea if it was the same Frank Evans.
