1.
At the joint meeting in Cleveland, early in January, of the Physical Society, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the college will be represented by Dr. Cornelia Clapp, professor of zoölogy, Dr. Alma Stokey and Dr. Anna Starr of the department of botany, Miss Anne Morgan and Miss Lucy Smith, instructors in zoölogy, and Dr. Anne Young, professor of astronomy.
I'm wondering if Alma spent Christmas in Philadelphia before meeting Anne Starr at Anne's family home in Elyria, Ohio, before going on to the meeting in Ohio, as they did in 1915 - see: Will's Christmas letter to Eva suggests that Mama Margaret was in Philadelphia with Eva - see: This was Eva's first Christmas after moving to Philadelphia, so it woould have been interesting to hear more about it.
2.
Dr. Mary V. Young, professor of romance languages, and Miss Harriet Blake, instructor in English literature, are planning to attend the meeting in Philadelphia Dec. 25-28, of the Modern Language Association.
I seriously wonder about this. Did the Modern Language really start their meeting on Christmas Day? Or did the Boston Evening Transcript get it wrong?
