I suppose Eva has written to you of Aunt Mary’s death before this and about my coming out here, but arrived too late to see her, I came down here with Fred after her funeral Saturday and will stay here until Wednesday and then go back to New York and finish up my sewing and get back to Mt. Holyoke again, for I think Alma will be glad to see me. I think she will be getting tired of her “dumb work”
The enclosed came from Laura to be signed by each one so we will send to you and you can send to Alma then Alma to [crossed out: Laura] Eva. Then she can send on to Canton. I will now stop to get it mailed. Write to me. I am always wanting letters.

2. Alma will be glad to see me. I think she will be getting tired of her “dumb work” Dumb work must be what Alma called housework. I like it.
3. The enclosed came from Laura to be signed by each one I don't know what the paper was. I figure it was related to Laura's plan to set up practice in Canton, since she was graduating from osteopath school in June, but I don't know. There's a further mention of it in another letter of Mama Margaret's to Will, but it is no more enlightening:
Mama Margaret had been in New York with Eva when Frank met and fell for Eva, and now Mama Margaret was away, giving Frank a better opportunity to pursue his courtship of Eva. If Mama Margaret had not been away, would Eva have become engaged to Frank? Maybe, but it probably wouldn't have happened as quickly as it did.
