This was one of those times when I feel I hit the jackpot on newspapers.com. Here's something that I haven't seen mentioned in any of the letters.

Alma, Eva, Fred, and Will Stokey have returned from a vacation spent camping out on the Huron river.

1.
Alma, Eva, Fred, and Will Stokey have returned from a vacation
This was the last time that Will and Fred saw each other for nearly ten years. See:
1917-06-10 LETTER FROM MAMA MARGARET TO EVA
I am so glad Fred came. Will was so pleased to have him here. I never saw him more entertaining and or nicer. I didn’t know or remember that it was ten years this summer saw each other.
2.
camping out on the Huron river.
Wikipedia says:
The Huron River is a 14.9-mile-long (24.0 km) waterway in the north central Ohio in the United States. The watershed drains large portions of Erie County and Huron County, the northeast corners of Seneca County and Crawford County, and northern portions of Richland County.
3.
How I wish I could have been a fly on the tent wall on this trip. Imagine Eva going camping! And Alma enjoying three picnics a day! And Fred and Will helping Alma to gather plant samples, and doing whatever else they wanted to do.
4.
I wonder who told the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram about the camping trip.
5.
Here's something from a letter from Mama Margaret a couple of years later, about the house in Truro, Massachusetts, that Alma rented:
1909-06-24 LETTER FROM MAMA MARGARET TO WILL
It is a delightful place to rest and do as you please, and dress as primitive as you did in your camp by Lake Erie.
I know that the camp in this news item was on the Huron River, but I still wonder if this was what Mama Margaret was talking about. After all, Will wasn't home all that often, so when else would they have gone camping? And Mama Margaret wasn't there herself, so she might well have been unclear about the exact location.
