STOKEY ON THE STAND
Weather Prognosticator Offered Expert Testimony.
Prof. C. F. Stokey, local observer for the Ohio weather bureau was a witness in his official capacity in common pleas court Wednesday. The case of William E. Heffner against Rev. George W. Kling was taken up for hearing. It had been partially heard before. The case grew out of a contract for building a house for Kling. The carpenter sued for a balance due and payment was refused upon the grounds that some of the work was defective. Weather conditions figured in the delay in the work and Prof. Stokey was brought into the case with his report of the weather in November and December 1901. The record was submitted for the examination of Judge Harter.
