The West German School will be removed to the room on second floor of the East School annex building.
The erection of another school building necessitates some changes in the districts. The new School district will consist of that portion of the Union School district lying east of the Pittsburgh, Fort Wayne & Chicago Railroad, and north of Ninth street. The boundary line between the North and East school districts from the Cherry street east to Mahoning street, will be North street, instead of Third street as heretofore. Some other changes will probably be necessary but will be deferred until after the opening of school.
The new building will not be completed by the commencement of the next term. Due notice will be given of the time when it will be ready for occupation.
Pupils who failed to attain the average required for promotion and who have not already been re-examined, will be afforded an opportunity of re-examination during the first week of school

1.
This is one of a series of documents that I have uploaded featuring Papa Charles in his role as a teacher and school administrator.
You can find the whole list in:
2.
This announcement seems to be an annual thing, since there's one for 1877: The 1877 announcement has the salaries for the teachers, but we're not so lucky with this one. I wonder if some complaint was made.
3.
The Fall Term of the Canton Public Schools will begin on Monday, Sept. 1st, 1879.
Labor Day didn't become a recognized holiday until the 1890s.
4.
A Grammar, Annie McKinley, Principal.
Annie is in the 1877 list as Anna McKinley. Papa Charles's friend William McKinley, who was elected US president in 1896, had a sister named Anna, 1832–1890. I wouldn't be surprised if the Annie McKinley here is William McKinley's sister.
5.
There are lots of names in this 1879 list that were in the 1879 list, which made transcription helpful, since the image for this item isn't so great. It looks as though other teachers weren't moving around as much as Papa Charles was.
